Lunar New Year in Houston

downloadEvent: The Lunar New Year in Houston

There are several places around town to celebrate the Lunar (Chinese) New Year in Houston on February 21, 2015, most notably at Discovery Green, where there is an all-day (10am-6pm) festival chaired by Mayor Annise Parker.

The 19th Annual Texas Lunar New Year Celebration is open to the general public, and children 12 and under get in free ($8 admission for those over 12).   This event is the largest Lunar New Year celebration in the southwestern United States, and attracted over 20,000 people last year.

There will be lots of displays, food booths, acrobats, lion dancers, martial arts demonstrations, games, door prizes, and other forms of entertainment suitable for all ages.  The event is a team effort by Southern News group and over 100 organizations from all over the greater Houston area.  This fun, family-friendly celebration of the coming of the Year of the Sheep and of the diversity of our community is one you shouldn’t miss!

And in order to avoid the hassle and expense of driving in, trying to find a nearby place to park, and then having to drive home tired after the day’s festivities, you could book a ride in one of our many choices of transportation solutions.
