What To Do When Your Houston Flight Gets Delayed

After you’ve been picked up by Lone Star Executive Limousine and driven to Hobby or George Bush Airport in Houston, hopefully your flight will be on-time with no delays. Unfortunately, though, air travel can be a sketchy business, and you could end up waiting longer than you expected before boarding the plane to jet away.

Take a deep breath and relax. There’s nothing you can do, so you might as well enjoy your stay in Houston for a little bit longer, right?

We would never encourage you to drink to excess, but a couple of margaritas or beers at the airport bar is a time-honored tradition for many travelers, especially those in business class. Misery loves company, right? So grab a bar stool, put your order in, and chat with the guys and gals there about the weather, the game on TV, or where you’re from and where they’re from. You never know—you might meet a lifetime friend this way, or at least someone you can “friend” on Facebook. Just make sure you don’t drink so much that they won’t let you on the plane when it finally does take off.

Kids and adults alike seem to be constantly glued to their phone, playing games like Angry Birds and Candy Crush all the time. If you’ve got some games on your phone, now’s the time to play ‘em while waiting. For others who aren’t slaves to a screen, the airport is one of the world’s best places to people watch. If you’re alone, look people over and try and guess what they do for a living, for fun. If you’re with someone, or there’s someone nearby equally as bored, have them help choose professions—the more “out there” the better, for some good laughs. Just remember to be polite about it!

Finally, airports seem like mini-malls these days, don’t they? A delayed Houston flight is a great chance to hang out at the food court and sample some foods you’ve never had before. Browse the gift shops and look for fun souvenirs to bring back to your friends or family.

Finally, if you are still stressed out, sit back in one of the chronically underused massage chairs, or stop into the airport spa, and indulge. Just because you’re waiting doesn’t mean you can’t pamper yourself and make the most of your time. If you’re in that much of a hurry, chances are you deserve a moment to relax.

If everything is on schedule, Lone Star Executive Limousine is committed to having you there on time.
